Our Story: The Kirkland Events Foundation is a public charity and community foundation serving Kirkland, WA. The Foundation started as Kudos Kirkland, an all-volunteer organization in 2010, then later reorganized into its current legal structure as a public community foundation.

Our Mission: The mission of The Foundation is to improve the quality of life for the people of Kirkland by creating educational and community events that bring neighborhoods together, helping us fund the underprivileged and needy in our community.

To accomplish our mission,The Foundation focuses on three primary functions:

Community Events

Producing and promoting Kirkland events which enrich the education, cultural, economic and social fabric of our community. Professional events production and promotion working together with volunteers. Proceeds from Foundation events fund other community events which cannot fund themselves.

Volunteer Kirkland is an online volunteer management system developed to improve coordination and communication of all volunteers in Kirkland. Available to all community event organizers. (

With a focus on our local community, The Foundation provides financial support of local philanthropic efforts in education, human services, youth and community development.

About the Lake Washington Schools Foundation: The Lake Washington Schools Foundation raises funds to support academic excellence and success for all students in the Lake Washington School District. All children have the potential to succeed if they are given support, resources and inspiration. We believe that when the community helps students, they make the community a better place to live.

The foundation provides extra resources to the Lake Washington School District so that it can develop students’ future-ready skills and provide quality teaching and equal access to educational opportunities. We accomplish this by awarding classroom grants, supporting the LINKS mentoring program and by assisting low-income students with academic expenses.
